Upcoming Events:
Early Dismissal Oct 24, No School Oct 25
Suggested Activities:
Upon the heels of Thanksgiving weekend, let's reflect on things we are grateful for! This week's theme is Giving Thanks and Recognizing the wonderful things and people in our lives! This week, let's start small and build big!
Tuesday: Create a circle with your students and talk about things everyone is thankful for. It can be simple, to the point, or others may want to share. Start building the ability for everyone to feel heard and important within your Mentorship class. Build upon ideas, perhaps do a few times around the circle.
Wednesday: Write a Thank you note to a friend for something they did for you that helped you out. Blank Templates are attached below for you to print if students need a launching point to help them get started with their "thank yous".
Here are some prompts to help: Thank you for.... You are a great friend because.... It was really nice when you.... I am sorry for.... It was so funny when.....
Thursday: Write a Thank you note to a teacher who has connected with you, made you feel special, or just a thank you note to make their day. You can use the blank templates from yesterday as well. Here are some prompts to help: Thank you for... You made my day when.... It was really nice when... It was funny when....
Friday: Finish up Thank you notes, give them to your friend, give them to the teacher you wanted to say thank you to. If students are too shy, thank you notes to teachers can be placed in my mailbox and I will distribute them to the proper mailbox. We can continue this activity next week if there was not enough time to create a thank you note. Please give me feedback if more time is wanted.

- We scare Hunger Launch! Mentorship classes are encouraged to collect food items from October 15 - 24th. Each food item will result in a point for your house team. In addition, the Mentorship class that collects the most food items will receive 50 points for their house! Side Note: Teachers - you will be asked to count/record the number of items and report those numbers back to myself.
- In addition to the food collection challenge we are going to be having a build challenge with your food items. Therefore, on October 28, 29, 30 your mentorship class will build a structure with your food collection items (in their boxes/cans, not the actual food). NO OTHER MATERIALS ALLOWED. Your class's job is to create a structure that best represents Halloween.
- Action Item: Each teacher will be expected to take a photo of their complete (or not) structure NO LATER THAN Wednesday, October 30th and post it to the school's I: Drive (Teacher Resources --> Mentorship --> We Scare Hunger Building Challenge). If you need more details, please check your email or connect with me for more details.
